Lost and Found
by Kevin Sinclair
Turned right at the lights like you said
Travelled down a one way street
Everything in this part of town seems dead
There is no one here to meet
Softly through the radio came a sound
I could have sworn I’d heard it before
That question – tell me where are you bound
I thought I knew when I walked out the door.
It just seems like a circle going round
One day we must reach the end
How much longer can I stay in this town
Lost and alone, without a friend
The newspapers blow around my feet
The pavement is hot and dry
Looking around, I need to find a seat
Don’t want anyone to see me cry.
Out in the distance I see a bright light
Is it only a mirage I ask in vain
Suddenly darkness, have I lost my sight
My heart is wounded and I’m in pain
Sorrow runs through my body today
Everyone has to pay a price
I say well that’s okay
As long as I don’t have to pay twice.
All of a sudden it happened
And the answer became clear
Look inside your own heart
To find what you hold dear
Turn around and face the sun
Leave the rain behind
Start each day with a little fun
As you create a new life design.
