On My Sleeve
by Kevin Sinclair
Lost in another time zone
Walked backwards without knowing
Didn’t hear the sound of the machine
Never saw the red light glowing
Just woke up and hear I am
Confused and lonely and sad
Looked around with horror
How could I have been so bad?
Home is where the heart is
Mine is on my sleeve
Got to find a reason
Need something to believe.
The early morning shock
Not knowing where I am
Pinched myself to see
Just trying to understand
Where has the light gone
And the crimson pink sky
Questions and more questions
I need to know why.
Home is where the heart is
Mine is on my sleeve
Touch me with your kindness
Give me something to believe.
In a quiet corner somewhere
Deep in the back of my mind
Is there an answer lurking
Just waiting for me to find
Or is it another dead end
Where hope is in vain
Somehow this must stop
There must be an end to the pain.
