Place In The Heart

by Kevin Sinclair

You can travel the world
And not even notice them
They’re the unsung heroes
With more joy in their lives
Than we’ll ever attain
They want for nothing
As they have all they need
A simple faith and trust
And a willingness to learn.

There’s a place in the heart
Where the sun does shine
They have battled adversity
And still they survive
They don’t look for your respect
As they have enough of their own
Their lives have a purpose
And they never give up trying.

Life may seem to crush and cripple
Just when everything was sweet
But they don’t sit there and despair
Instead they get on with living
Doing what needs to be done
They give all they’ve got
And they lead by example
Very rarely with words.

There’s a place in the heart
That’s made of pure gold
They have coped with suffering
And somehow still survived
They don’t look for your respect
As they have enough of their own
Their lives have a purpose
And they never give up trying.
