Shadow of the Valley
by Kevin Sinclair
Little things here and there
To you they say so much
They make you laugh
They make you cry
You will never know
Why they were written
Like so many secrets
You were never told.
Once your faith was weak
His words made you strong
He gave you a day
He gave you a night
Ever heard about inspiration
What about dedication
You have much to share
You’re never given the chance.
In his words and actions
You dream of your release
Words that were expressive
Words that were dead
You will never know
The life that he lives today
All your nights are empty
With no one to hold you.
If he ever found the time
To say any less to you
Feelings would burn bright
Feelings would slowly die
What was his inspiration
To write with the flame
That burns your tender skin
But you will never ignite.
