Wasting Away Waiting

Can’t get an interview
Seems like it’s a waste of time
The money is drying up
Can’t say things are fine
Know I’ve got to keep on trying
Something will come up soon
Feel like pigs might fly and
The cow will jump over the moon.
Wasting away waiting
Don’t want all this gloom
Want optimism and hope
No more thoughts of doom.
Has the motivation died
Or is it just confidence running low?
The opportunities are limited
With not a lot to show
Don’t want heavy responsibility
But need monetary gain
Need to put the past to rest
And move on from the pain.
Wasting away waiting
Not in the drivers seat
Don’t give me the blues
Play music that is upbeat.
Yes, I’m ready to rock ‘n’ roll
Going to give it a rumble
Going to start climbing strong
Will not slip and tumble
The time has come to shake away
The chains that bind me
Released and rejoicing
A proud man walking free.
